Ann’s Wedding

I love everything about Ann’s wedding! Her dress, flowers and all the pretty blush bridesmaid dresses, everything soft and romantic. Once a bride tells me their theme I made sure there hair and makeup ties in especially the colors. My favorite looks for a blush wedding are always warm smokey browns on the eye lids, dewy skin and pink hues for cheeks and lips. We did airbrush foundation on everyone to achieve that natural glowy skin and soft waves on all the bridesmaids. Ann’s hair was strategically pinned into a low bun which can be taken off later in the evening so that it’s half down. Everyone looked so beautiful and chic, I love the final results and the photographs are so dreamy.

My Fairytale

View More:

I’ve always wanted wedding photos in the woods, something about a white dress in the forest just seems so magical to me. I wanted to wear my real wedding dress for this shoot and since we weren’t getting married in a forest, I knew I wanted to do a stylize shoot after the wedding. That way I don’t reveal my dress to Sean prior to our Big Day and it gives me an excuse to wear my dress again!

Fortunately for me, I have a husband that was willing to take lots of photos and a fairytale photographer to make my dreams come true.

Styling info: I was going for an enchanted/ethereal look which meant hair and makeup needed to be clean and groomed. Instead of my usual loose waves, I styled my waves curlier, shinier and more structurally placed. Makeup was soft and pretty, light smokey browns on the eyes and peach tones on cheeks and lips. Dress by Lazaro.

Sean’s wearing an Ernenegildo Zegna tux, bowtie and cummerbund are from Sak’s fifth.

I love weddings and am always happy when one of my friends gets married especially when its a very close friend!

I was honored that Liz asked me to do her hair and makeup for her big day! Although, I was now getting her glammed up for her wedding day and homecoming or prom, not much has changed since our high school days when we’re together. Liz had be to ready bright and early at the beautiful Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle. Getting her and the bridal party dolled up was just so much fun and nostalgic. Backstreet boys was playing on the stereo, lots of laughs and references about our high school day and LOTS of hot pinks, Liz’s favorite color!

I wanted to incorporate her favorite color into her makeup look somehow so I decided to go with a YSL lip stain in a fuchsia pink color and kept the rest of her makeup clean and flawless with very neutral eyes and a winged out liner for some glam. Half up hair style with some loose curls really suits her and completed her look. She looked absolutely stunning and was gleaming, I was so happy to be apart of her big day. Congrats Liz and Ryan!

Carol’s wedding took place at the beautiful Omni Hotel in San Diego. The weather was perfect and everyone was so fun to work with! We got Carol, her 7 bridesmaids and mother ready for her big day at 6 AM and everyone was ready by 11 Am.

Carol wanted something natural, soft and romantic. We decided on half up-do for her hair and soft makeup for her, she looked like a blushing bride! I used airbrush foundation on her skin, Urban Decay Naked Palette 2 for smokey brown eyes and mixed natural blushy pinks on apples of the cheeks and kept her lips a soft pinks color. The rest of the bridal party had smokey eyes and soft coral/peaches on cheeks and lips and Carol picked out the hair style for each of the ladies. Everyone looked so beautiful and elegant, what a gorgeous bridal party!

Maria (who is also my new sister-in-law) wanted something soft and romantic for her rustic themed wedding. I am a huge fan of soft makeup for outdoor weddings, so I played up the eyes and did lots of contouring so that the features shows up in photos. I blended everything out with soft shades of pinks and peaches so that the makeup looks pretty and subtle which works for both morning and evening.

Maria’s big day started at 9:00 am for her Chinese Tea Ceremony, so we started the makeup at 5 am and no one needed any touch ups throughout the entire day! I just made sure the girls reapply their lips after they eat, the makeup last until midnight! The wedding venue was straight from a wedding magazine, such a pretty wedding!

I had an amazing time getting Heather and her bridal party ready for her big day. I walked into their suite at The Lofts at the Hilton Gaslamp, San Diego and everyone was just sitting around relaxed in their cute robes, it was the first time I came into such a large bridal party that was so calm and organized. Heather is so detail oriented everything about her wedding was perfect and absolutely gorgeous! She was so sweet and easy to work with she knew exactly what she wanted and we also did a trial run before, bronze eyes with smoked out liner and peachy pinks on cheeks and lips. Her bridal party went with different shades of lavender shadows but had more dramatic smokey eyes. Everyone looked absolutely stunning, such a beautiful wedding!

I had the pleasure of getting Tracy and her bridal party ready on her big day at the Sofia Hotel, in San Diego. When we did a trial on her, Dean her now husband, had requested she have big sexy hair instead of the vintage pin-up look we tried. Tracy looks amazing with any hair style but I really think this hair and simple makeup suits her perfectly. She was beaming and looked so radiant and beautiful. Another one of my favorite blushing bride with very natural makeup and effortless hair.

I was so honored to do my lovely friend Julia’s hair and make-up for her big day. She’s one of the most beautiful person I know inside and out and the happiest bride to be around. She was very relax and we had lots of fun getting her ready, she’s an islander so we kept her hair very simple with big waves and played up her makeup a little more adding some red lips for a pop of color. Her makeup lasted all day and by the end of the night her lips became a berry stained which was what we were going for. She’s just stunning in person and in photos!

Before & After, Taryn

Taryn wanted smokey eyes but since she was getting married on the beach I decided to do less smokey but still put a lot of emphasis on the eyes using natural bronze shadows and defined winged out liner. I kept the rest of her face very natural looking and kept her hair soft and pretty with lose curls. She looks beautiful, very soft and glowy!
